Viking Ocean Cruises Unveils Plans For Another Epic World Sailing

Viking Ocean Cruises has announced plans for another epic world cruise — only its second ever.

Kicking off Jan. 9, 2019 in Miami, the 128-day voyage will span nearly the entire globe and include stops in 44 ports in 21 countries.

The sailing will take place on Viking's soon-to-debut, 930-passenger Viking Sun.

Sun is fast-growing Viking's fourth vessel.

The new world cruise will start with calls in Puerto Rico and Grenada as Sun travels through the Caribbean to South America for a series of stops in French Guiana, Brazil, Argentina and Chile. From there, the vessel will sail westward across the Pacific to Easter Island before continuing to French Polynesia, New Zealand and Australia.

After several stops across the southern half of Australia, Sun will cross the Indian Ocean to Mauritius and Africa. It'll visit Madagascar, Mozambique, South Africa, Namibia, Senegal and Morocco as it rounds Africa's Cape of Good Hope and heads up the continent's west coast to Europe.

The voyage ends May 11, 2019 in London.

Fares for the voyage start at $49,995 per person, including business class air; transfers to and from the ship; all gratuities and service fees; a drinks package; and a visa service. Customers who book by Dec. 31 also will receive a $2,000 shipboard credit.

Sun will be a sister to Viking Star, Viking Sea and the recently unveiled Viking Sky.
